K4G Pitch Day 2025

Out of nearly 1,000 applicants for our 2025 incubation programme for non-profits looking to transform the food system, 18 initiatives made it to our final K4G Pitch Day.

Here, each initiative was able to pitch to our jury of funders, founders and movement experts for a share of $300,000 in seed-funding – of which more than half was awarded as prize money on the day. The final teams ranged from new meta-fundraising initiatives seeking to bring more money into the movement, through to new organisations supporting food system documentary makers and social media creators.

Pitch Day was the culmination of almost four-months of hard work from the cohort who have all dedicated at least 20 hours a week to the programme. During this time, they undertook extensive validation of their ideas under expert mentorship – including developing a strong theory of change; learning how to implement key monitoring and evaluation frameworks; and practical hands-on skills such as presenting and identifying funding opportunities.

Through a combined virtual and in-person programme, only those initiatives which showed sufficient progress in the first phase continued past our mid-programme ‘Mission Readiness Review’ to present to our final jury.
